Monday morning 31st of December 2012, Woody Johnson informed Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum that he would not be coming back in 2013, The News was not a shock, after most had expected he would be in the firing line. Mike has been with the organization since 1997, when he came in as a salary cap specialist.
Woody Johnson has hired Jed Hughes to consult on potential GM candidates, with names on the list such as
- San Francisco Director of Player Personnel 49ers Tom Gamble
- Former Cleveland Browns General Manager Tom Heckert
- New York Giants Director of College Scouting Marc Ross
- Jets Assistant GM Scott Cohen
They are just some of the names being linked to the vacant GM job with the Jets.
