  • W2W4: A minicamp with major issues
The Jets are ready for the next phase of the offseason, their mandatory minicamp — three practices (no pads) from Tuesday to Thursday in Florham Park. A note to fans: Wednesday’s practice (11:45 a.m.) is open to the public.

What we’ll be covering throughout the week:

    1. Distribution of QB reps: Mark Sanchez and rookie Geno Smith shared approximately 90 percent of the reps in the OTAs (based on practices open to the media), but Sanchez received most of the work (call it a 60-40 split) and stayed predominantly with the first team.

  • Idzik hires former Cards GM Graves
You knew there would be major changes when John Idzik arrived in January, and that’s exactly how it has played out. On Monday, he announced his most important front-office hire, former Cardinals GM Rod Graves, who was named senior director of football administration.

The move makes sense on a couple of levels. Idzik is comfortable with Graves, as they worked together in Arizona from 2004-07. Back then, Graves was the boss, Idzik the underling. In fact, they go way, way back to their days as ball boys for the Eagles.

  • Keller: Always ‘nonsense’ around Jets
Dustin Keller began his Jets career with Brett Favre and ended with Tim Tebow, a five-year period that covered a lot of circus. In an interview Sunday with SiriusXM NFL Radio, the Jets’ former tight end reflected on his time in New York, suggesting there were too many distractions.

“There’s always some type of nonsense going on,” said Keller, who left as a free agent and signed a one-year contract with the Dolphins. “When you’re in the New York media [market], I can’t say you’re used to that — there’s always going to be distractions — but this was really more so than anywhere else.
