  • Draft Prospects: Jordan, Nassib, Milliner, Dysert To Visit Jets
Highly touted University of Oregon defensive-end/outside linebacker Dion Jordan (6’6’, 248) is just one of many college prospects scheduled to make visit to Florham Park and the New York Jets before the draft. Jordan is projected to be a top ten pick in this year’s draft and has the strength and speed to be a [...]
  • Draft profile: Jarvis Jones, Georgia
This is the fourth in a series highlighting players who could be selected by the Jets with the ninth overall pick in the April 25 draft:

    Player: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia

    Height/weight: 6-foot-2½, 245 pounds

    Scouts, Inc. rating: 14

    Draft projection: Ninth to 17th

Scouting report: Jones is the opposite of LSU OLB Barkevious Mingo and Oregon OLB Dion Jordan, both featured previously in this space. By that, I mean Jones was a highly productive college player who tested poorly.

  • Kiper’s 4.0 mock: Mingo is his name-o
    Once again, it’s Barkevious Mingo.

On Thursday, ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper released his mock draft 4.0 and, not surprisingly, he projects the Jets will select the undersized pass rusher from LSU with the ninth overall pick. In the second round, he has Stanford TE Zach Ertz to the Jets at 39 overall.

Kiper has been consistent with Mingo-to-the-Jets. You can check out the entire first round, but here are Kiper’s top nine:

    1. Chiefs — Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M

  • Preseason schedule is here
The Jets open the 2013 preseason on the road against the Lions, their only game away from MetLife Stadium this summer.

The full preseason schedule was announced Thursday by the NFL. The dates and times of the Jets’ games still haven’t been posted, but here’s the lineup of games:

    Week 1 (Aug. 8-11) — at Lions

    Week 2 (Aug. 15-19) — Jaguars

    Week 3 (Aug. 22-25) — at Giants

    Week 4 (Aug. 29-30) — Eagles

Quick takeaway: For the Jets, the main storyline will be the quarterback competition, with Mark Sanchez and David Garrard the leading candidates.
