- NY Jets Wedding
We would like to congratulate Kevin Luccarelli and Kerry Burke, they got married on 3/16/13 at the Sheraton Crossroads and Towers in Mahwah, NJ. What is impressive is that these two die-hard Jets fans managed to work their love of the Jets into the ceremony. The wedding ceremony included the signature J E T S, [...]
- 2013 NFL Draft – Scouting The Prospects: Travis Kelce
As we inch closer to this year’s NFL Draft next month, our draft team here at Turn On The Jets will be running a series of individual prospect evaluations. These scouting reports are intended to provide an in-depth breakdown of individual prospects in this year’s draft class highlighting players’ overall strengths, weaknesses, potential upside, red …
- Free-agent snapshot: Low risk, low PT
As expected, the Jets haven’t made a big splash in free agency, opting for under-the-radar players at modest prices. Most of them missed significant time last season due to injuries, increasing the risk factor.
Here’s a breakdown of their free-agent additions with last season’s playing-time totals:
- 3/19 Colon: "A New Beginning"
New York Jets Guard Willie Colon discuesses his signing with the team and his return to NY/NJ area.
- ESPN.com Slams Jets
We realize that the thoughts of the mainstream media have zero impact on the outcome on the field. That said, ESPN.com put out their pre-draft power rankings and there was no love sent in the direction of the NY Jets. The Seahawks, 49ers and Broncos were ranked 1, 2 and 3. The order in which [...]
- JetNation Radio: March 19th Episode
During the last episode of JetNation Radio Dennis Agapito and Tyson Rauch went over what Jets general manager John Idzik has done or not done and why? They talked about the perception that head coach Rex Ryan is a “lame duck” and what he’ll need to do this season to remain on as the Jets [...]
- Jets in no rush to make a deal
A week ago, Darrelle Revis was supposedly a goner. Now there are reports that the Bucs’ interest in him is cooling. So which is it?
The word I’m getting from the NFL meetings in Phoenix is that Jets GM John Idzik is in no rush to make a trade and that he’s willing to let it play out until after the draft. Why wait?
The Jets are on a long-term rebuilding plan, and Idzik apparently isn’t married to the idea of having immediate draft-pick compensation — if he decides to move his best player, which is what many expect to happen.
- No respect: 31st in ESPN Power Rankings
At the NFL meetings Tuesday in Phoenix, Rex Ryan told reporters he doesn’t see the Jets as a rebuilding team even though they’re down eight starters (and counting) from a year ago.
An ESPN panel of experts disagrees.
In the ESPN pre-draft Power Rankings, the Jets get no love at all, finishing 31st out of 32 teams. That’s rough.
The team ranked below the Jets? Hint: They were, at one point, considered the likely landing spot for Tim Tebow.
- EA Q&A: Jets Taking Smart Approach to FA
With the Draft to be their Lifeline, the Green & White Will Shop Wisely
- Colon, Garay: Big chips on their shoulder
G Willie Colon turns 30 next month and has missed 36 of the last 48 games due to injuries. NT Antonio Garay is 33 and has suffered five season-ending injuries in his career. If they were used cars on the lot, they wouldn’t be listed in mint condition.
But say this for them: Starting fresh with the Jets, they’re eager to prove people wrong.
“I’m like a young bull getting ready to go back into the ring,” Garay said Tuesday on a media conference call.
