- GM Idzik And Coach Ryan Q & A With Ticket Holders
New York Jets general manager John Idzik and head coach Rex Ryan had a conference call today taking questions from season ticket holders. They were given a variety of questions, especially on the Darrelle Revis situation, but neither Idzik nor Ryan gave to much insight as to what the teams actually plans are: (Note: questions [...]
- Garrard calls Jets ‘ideal situation’
Free-agent QB David Garrard, looking for a job after two years out of the league, took to the airwaves Monday to make his case on why he’d be perfect for the Jets.
“I definitely think it’s the ideal situation,” Garrard told Sirius XM NFL radio.
No offense to incumbent Mark Sanchez, Garrard said, but he feels he can win the starting job if he plays up to his potential. If not, he’d be content as a backup, he said.
Garrard, 35, worked out for the Jets last Thursday, and he believes he aced the audition.

- Question? Phone Rex, but where’s Woody?
Rex Ryan and GM John Idzik will face an angry mob Monday — well, kinda.
They will hold a 1 p.m. conference call with season-ticket holders, answering football questions. The Jets do this once or twice a year, a PR move that lets the fan base hear the state of team directly from the decision makers. Presumably, the calls will be screened, so it probably won’t get too down and dirty, but Jets fans aren’t bashful and they believe Ryan has some ‘splaining to do.

- Still no deal with Jets, Garrard
The Jets have kept open the lines of communication with free-agent QB David Garrard, but no deal is imminent, a source said Sunday.
If a deal gets done, it wouldn’t happen for at least another week. The Jets have more immediate concerns as they gear up for the start of free agency, March 12. There is mutual interest, though, so stay tuned.
Garrard, 35, who hasn’t played in two years because of back and knee injuries, worked out for the Jets last Thursday.
