- Rex: Jets RBs ‘left yards on the field’
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — A day after the Jets ran for just 88 yards against Miami, Rex Ryan offered a pretty damning indictment of his running backs.
“Did I think we left some yards on the field? Absolutely,” Ryan said. “…. There was a chance to get the ball outside, just different things. But I would give credit to the opponent because they did an outstanding job.”
Shonn Greene struggled in particular against Miami, managing just 40 yards on 19 carries.
- Darrelle Revis Out For Season With Torn ACL
Florham Park, N.J.- Today at noon Jets fans got the devastating news that they more than likely expected, but were praying wouldn’t come. A somber Rex Ryan entered the press conference room and he didn’t have to say a word. The look on his face said it all.
Darrelle Revis is out for the season with [...]

Darrelle Revis is out for the season with a torn ACL…now what for the New York Jets?
- Stephen Hill may be out, too
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — It doesn’t sound like Stephen Hill will be on the field Sunday against the 49ers.
The rookie wideout suffered a hamstring injury in the Jets’ win over the Dolphins and Rex Ryan didn’t seem optimistic about his status for Week 4.
“That’s a hamstring on a skilled athlete, so we’ll see about this week. He might be kind of iffy for this week,” Ryan said.
Hill, a 6-foot-4, 215-pound rookie, has largely been a non-factor for the past two weeks.
- Jets Cornerback Darrelle Revis Has Torn ACL, Likely Out For The Season
The Jets walked away with a win in Miami yesterday, but the team suffered an even greater loss when their worst fears were confirmed this afternoon: Star cornerback Darrelle Revis has torn his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and will require surgery. Head coach Rex Ryan announced the news today, and would not say [...]
- Jets won’t survive losing Darrelle Revis
New York Jets Pro Bowl cornerback Darrelle Revis tore his ACL and is expected to be out for the season, according to head coach Rex Ryan. This is a deathblow for the Jets, who will not recover from this loss.
The Jets’ goal is to make a playoff run and win a Super Bowl. They won’t do either without Revis, who is by far the Jets’ best and most important player. New York’s defensive scheme is based on Revis shutting down half the field. Now, the entire field opens up for opponents.
- Jets Waive Defensive Lineman Dixon
The Jets have waived defensive lineman Marcus Dixon. This is the second time this season which Dixon has been released by the team. He was let go before the season began, was resigned before the first game, and has played in all three games this season recording one tackle. It is possible the Jets resign [...]
- Insider: Who could replace Revis?
The guys at Pro Football Focus are analyzing what comes next:
With Revis down Kyle Wilson moves from the nickel spot into a starting space on the edge. Wilson was drafted in the first round but has struggled playing the slot since. His coverage snaps per reception — a metric that measures the number of completions he allows relative to the times he drops into coverage — of 8.4 only ranks 31st among slot corners. Wilson regularly seems half a step behind the play, and can expect to be targeted frequently as a starter.
- The Morning After Drill
The New York Jets are 2-1 with two division victories and they sit on top of the AFC East standings. Why then are so many fans feeling a sense of gloom, typically reserved for fans of losing teams? Looking beyond their position in the standings, there just has not been many good things happening on [...]

- Revis Out For Season
Coach Rex Ryan during his press conference stated that an MRI has reveled Jets “All-Pro” cornerback Darrelle Revis tore his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) in his left knee and is out for the rest of the season. Revis injured the knee in a non-contact play during yesterday’s victory over the Miami Dolphins. Revis will require [...]
- Jets release DT Marcus Dixon
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — The Jets waived DT Marcus Dixon for the second time in three weeks. His agent, Howard Shatsky, tweeted the news late Monday morning.
Dixon’s departure could pave the way for the return of LB Bryan Thomas, who was released Saturday as the Jets tweaked the roster for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins.
The Jets released Dixon on the final roster cutdown at the end of the preseason, but re-signed him a couple of days later because of a defensive-line injury.

- Source: No headhunting penalty for Pace
It is not expected the league will discipline New York Jets linebacker Calvin Pace for saying that the Jets “had to” knock Reggie Bush out of Sunday’s game. The video of the play does not show anything illegal or unusual happening that would suggest an effort to injure Bush, according to a league official.
Pace intimated to the New York Post that Bush’s knee injury Sunday was no accident. “Reggie, I guess he was doing his thing for a quarter or two,” Pace said.

- Injury Report: Revis and everybody else
MIAMI — The Jets’ injury report is headed by CB Darrelle Revis, who may have torn the ACL in his left knee in the third quarter.
Rex Ryan refused to characterize the severity of the injury, but a team source said late Sunday night the fear is that he tore the ACL — which would be a season-ending injury.
Revis is scheduled Monday for an MRI exam.
WR Stephen Hill suffered an apparent hamstring injury late in the game. He tried to return, but went out again.
- Jets Squish Fish, 23-20 in OT
As ugly as the game against Pittsburgh was last week, this one against the Dolphins was worse. The only redeeming quality was that the Jets walked away with the win in overtime, 23-20. The offense was completely inept through most of the game. The receivers and tight ends had drops and miscues. The running game [...]
- New York Jets Week 3 Report Card
Week 3: New York Jets @ Miami Dolphins Quarterback: D+ Sanchez: 21/45, 306 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT Sanchez’ receivers could certainly do him some favors. They could, for example, pay attention. Or run routes. Or not have hands made of bricks. That said, this is Mark’s 4th year and, as such, it’s time for [...]

- Jets pull out ugly OT win in Miami 23-20, Revis hurt
MIAMI, FL – Kermit the Frog said it best; it ain’t easy being green. Struggling on offense for the majority of the afternoon, the Jets and Mark Sanchez certainly didn’t ease their way to a victory over the AFC East rival Miami Dolphins, on Sunday, but they’ll take it.
