- “The Blue and Green Review” Previews Jets-Bills
As most of you now know, I do a weekly Spreecast on Tuesday evenings called “The Blue and Green Review,” with Fansided’s Giants blogger, Joe Tufaro. Joe and I kicked off the 2012 NFL season with our first official show this past Tuesday, live from the Spreecast studios in NYC. Special guests included John and [...]

- Coach’s Big Decision: Blitz Fitz?
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — The Jets have been a blitz-heavy team under Rex Ryan, but they pulled back last season. Look for them to crank it up again in 2012. The question is, do they start in Week 1 by going after Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick?
It’s a cat and mouse game when you blitz the Bills, who spread the field with receivers and often rely on five-man protections. If the blitz doesn’t get to him quickly, Fitzpatrick will find an open receiver.
The Jets tried it both ways last season, and they had more success in the first meeting.
- Week 1 Preview: Jets vs. Bills
The Jets season opener against the Bills will be the battle of the defense more than the offense. The first point I would like to talk about is the front 4 of the Jets defense. The addition of Coples along with Mo Wilkerson will elevate the Jets pass rush in addition to allowing Rex to [...]
- Friday’s Fantasy Focus
Kate Upton and a cold dish of lasagna.
Those might be the only two things that get more excited than the start of the fantasy football season.
I live for the flexing of my brain’s sport muscle. I thrive off the anxiety of whittling my time clock down on a decision to go with Jordy Nelson or Roddy [...]
- Three-point stance: Buffalo Bills
The Jets have a bookend schedule for the first time since 2008 as they will open and close the regular season in divisional matchups with the Buffalo Bills. While the Jets won both meetings last season, the Bills’ defense should provide a tougher task this year with key additions in free agency as well as the draft.
The good news for Jets fans is that the Bills allowed 5.9 yards per play and finished 28th among NFL defenses in 2011. The bad news is that Gang Green averaged 4.

- A Sanchez State of Mind
Florham Park, NJ- Mark Sanchez has faced the same criticism throughout his first three seasons; he’s not very accurate, has too many turnovers, struggles adjusting past his first read and he’s mentally weak. In my opinion, one of these things is not like the others.
Has Sanchez had trouble moving past his first read? Absolutely. Troubles [...]

- Message to Jets Fans: Zip it with the boo’s!
As a Jets fan, there is something that has bothered me for quite some time… immediate booing. What’s the cause, a bad pass? An interception? Sometimes, yeah. But what quarter is it? Most of the time, it’s only the first half! We need to be more patient. Mark Sanchez has had a lot of success his first [...]
- Sanchez: Tone’s ‘rattled’ comment dramatic
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Was Mark Sanchez a little uncertain about why the Jets traded for Tim Tebow? Absolutely.
But was he “rattled” the way Santonio Holmes made it sound to reporters Wednesday? Not according to the Jets’ No. 1 quarterback.
“I think (Holmes) made it a little more dramatic. When you read it in the paper, it sounds like a Lifetime movie script or something, (like) he’s talking me off the ledge or something like that,” Sanchez told ESPN New York 98.

- PREVIEW: BILLS (0-0) @ NY JETS (0-0)
The football season is upon us. Yes, it’s finally here. The talks of how the Wildcat and Tim Tebow will be used will cease. No more crying over completion comparisons between Mark Sanchez and Tebow during 11-on-11 drills in practice. We’ll be able to see with our own eyes if the offensive line has really [...]
