Sheldon Richardson, a very popular Jet, fired back at Jets fans who supposedly were giving the player a tough time on social media about not being at OTAs.
He chose to be with his family a little longer instead of participating with his teammates. Some fans get that he chose family, but when you are an NFL player, duty calls. You have privileges that the layman doesn’t have and I understand that you earned your position.
Ever hear the phrase, perception is reality? Sheldon is perceived to not care what anyone thinks and is a straight shooter. In this case, he is perceived to be selfish because he skipped OTAs, but make no mistake, when he makes the pro-bowl and kicks ass this season, no one will care.
I always say that as long as you are thriving at what you do, then you can afford to get away with some things.
