Former #1 Draft Pick Josh Freeman Worked out for the Jets

According to Rich Cimini, the New York Jets worked out former number draft pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, quarterback Josh Freeman, hasn’t played since appearing in four games for the Buccaneers and Vikings in 2013.

The Jets have since signed Ryan Fitzpatrick, but the workout happened before that decision.

Freeman came out of the same class as Mark Sanchez, and I remember the days when many Jets fans thought he was the better QB, and their wishes for a trade.

“Josh Freeman had recent workout with Jets. I’m told he did well. Several other teams taking hard look at him,” reported Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman.

Would the Jets sign another QB, at least for camp competition.  Maybe they want to see what he has left in the tank.  Do I think Freeman will start the season for the Jets if signed… Hardly.

I would sign Josh Freeman and bring him to camp to compete against our two weak QB’s in Geno Smith and Ryan Fitzpatrick. If his workout went well then it’s worth it to sign him.
