Adam Schefter, ESPN’s NFL Insider put out a tweet today saying that the New York Jets are one of two teams interested in veteran quarterback Michael Vick.
I have been on record in my podcast, and on twitter saying NO. My decision has nothing to do with what he did off the field specifically about the dog-fighting. My issue is that he hasn’t been able to put in one full season, except for one in his career (and don’t expect it with the Jets) especially with his age.
I also believe that if Michael Vick were to come to the Jets to be the competition for Geno Smith, he would win the job. He’s that much better than Geno at this point in his career. My worry as stated above, is that Vick would get the starting gig, and get hurt in the middle of the season. Would Geno be able to pick up where Vick left off without missing a beat? I’m not sure.
Two teams likely to have some level of interest in Eagles free-agent-to-be QB Michael Vick: Buccaneers and Jets.
Offensive Coordinator, Marty Mornhinweg, was unavailable to explain himself to the media after the game Sunday, but Yahoo sports have reached out this morning and here are some quotes from the Jets' OC.
