The Jets Cut Aaron Maybin

The Jets cut OLB Aaron Maybin today. Though I’m not surprised, I feel bad for the guy. I really wanted it to work out.

The big news, of course, is Maybin, whose star (if you could call it that) faded quickly after showing promise last season as a situational pass rusher. He led the Jets with six sacks last season, raising expectations for 2012. He didn’t deliver. He recorded zero sacks in the first eight games and was a healthy scratch Sunday in Seattle, where he was replaced by a guy who never played in an NFL game — Ricky Sapp.
| nyjetscap Almost every decision #Jets have made to guarantee money for reduced cap counts has backfired- Scott, Pace, Sanchez, Maybin, Holmes, etc… 11/13/12 4:55 PM |
So I must really stop buy Jets Jersey’s. Yeah I was one of those that was hoping for the best for a potential bust and bought the replica “Mayhem” Jersey last year. There goes yet another 51 on my shelf. (Vilma)
