Shonn Greene’s Sunday Performance by the Numbers

Up until the last game, Jets fans have been VERY DOWN on running back Shonn Greene.  With a career day this past Sunday, fans are quick to forgive or so it seems until the next time he has an average game.

Jets’ Shonn Greene had a career day Sunday in a 35-9 win over the visiting Indianapolis Colts. His 161 yards on 32 carries were both career highs, and he played so well that the Jets’ coaching staff just kept dialing up running plays, leaving the pass plays for another day. via ESPN

2012 Stats Through Week 5

• Greene collected 103 of his career-high 161 yards between the tackles Sunday against the Colts, including all three of his touchdowns, according to ESPN Stats and info.
• Greene averaged 2.7 yards before contact on those rushes after averaging 1.5 yards before contact per rush over his first five games.
• The only other Jets running back to gain more than 150 yards and score three touchdowns in a game was Emerson Boozer on Oct. 15, 1972.
