What I think …. Jets Quick Hits 6/1 – Mangold says no; Revis II; What the Hell

Here are some random quick hits for June 1st with my quick thoughts on each topic.

Nick Mangold should reconsider going to the Oplmics and see his sister compete.

Darrelle Revis should take my advise about his contract, and Bart Scott… Well, he put out another gem quote, this time talking about the Virgin romance of Tim Tebow and Lolo Jones.

 

Hit 1: Mangold Says No

Jets coach Rex Ryan was shocked to hear center Nick Mangold declined his offer to skip some of training camp to watch his sister compete in the Olympics.

 

Mangold said this week Ryan offered him time off from camp to travel to London, where his sister, Holley, will represent the United States in weightlifting, but Mangold said it was more important to remain with the team.

Rex Ryan~ “I don’t think he realized this is an amazing thing. It really is,” said Ryan, who said he will try to convince Mangold to go. “How many people are good enough to go to the Olympics and compete against the world’s best, represent our country? … I know how important the season is, this game is, our football team is, but there’s other things that are equally as important, maybe more important in the big picture.”

I love Nick’s dedication to the team, but NICK this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and you are getting a free pass!  You voiced your opinion, and now the coach voiced his.  Please go!  Don’t regret this and cheer on your sister in the Olympics!!

And besides, guess who else is going to be there!  LOLO JONES!  You don’t have to communicate through twitter and T-shirts, you can try to talk with her and convince her that Tim is the one in person.  Alright fine, I guess she’ll be busy.

Hit 2: Revis II

I can’t [guarantee reporting on time],” Revis said. “I don’t know. I don’t know if I am or if I’m not.”

Revis got testy at times with the media for repeatedly asking him about the potential for another holdout, even as he was steadfast in refusing to close the door on that prospect.

So here we go again.  Darrelle can avoid all this by saying what he said the first time this year when the media asked him about his contract.  I’m here, and I’m COOL with my contract.  Keep saying that and there is no story.  The moment you said “I don’t know if I am or if I’m not” opened the door again.

Then getting peeved at the media put more fuel on the fire so now this story is getting hot once again.  Refuse to blow on the embers, and say you are COOL.

Hit 3: Go Play the Wii

How does the lyrics go in that song from the 80′s?  “We don’t have to take our clothes off, to have a good time, oh no”.

    Players – Especially Revis must just feel like punching Cimini and co in the face at times… To me a beat writer you basically have to draw from you Elementary Schoolyard skills and be a grade A pain in the ass douche….. I could never do that job… Wether they know it or not, they are dillweeds in the eyes of the players and necessary dillweeds – I’f feel like a complete schmuck if my daily job was to badger players until they break….. They may have entered the proffession based on the love of sports but, to now live your life as the Sports Schmuck…. Ugggh, I just couldn’t do it – and they claim what they do is for the fans….lol… We’re ok, we’ll get out info without your outdated proffession – Stop trying to Be the story and write more x’s and O’s stuff – Love the Tweet from Bart in March how the beat writers need to learn draft players and then the grades that come out a month laster based on????? Based on ### they read???  IMO, Beat writers are the lowest of the low – At least the bloggers and draft geeks watch as much tape as they can and Study FOOTBALL – Beat writers are the National enquirer – TMZ of sports…. just Paparazzi Jackoffs!!!!

      That was incomplete and full of errors as I’m working… But, IMO, the Draft geeks and Bloggers today do a ton of studying and even Watch tape and understand THE GAME…… I don’t get that out of these best writers who are just looking for the next “unnamed Source” to prop their career on…..

      I really don’t think we need Beat Writers anymore with the information flow we have today….

      Overall, listening to Revis, to me it just sounds like he absolutely hates Rich Cimini and If I were Cimini I wouldn’t want to get up every day having to badger this guy and live my life as the Sports Schmuck in the room.
