Training camp is right around the corner, but before D’Brickashaw Ferguson heads into Jets camp, he’s currently at another camp learning another skill.
11 NFL players are participating in the NFL Pro Hollywood Boot Camp at Universal Studios.
The program, to be held in the Los Angeles area at Universal City, Calif., is being directed by a New York-based production company called NFL Player Engagement and Film Life, Inc.
While the players learn the tricks of what it takes to successfully produce, direct and write screenplays, they will be mentored by Academy Award-nominated director John Singleton (Boyz n the Hood), In Living Color creator Keenen Ivory Wayans and writer/actor/director Robert Townsend (The Five Heartbeats).
Before the camp concludes, every player there will get a chance to shoot and edit a short film on one of Hollywood’s famed studio lots.
