If I take one thing from the Tim Tebow press conference today, where 300+ media member showed up to see a “backup quarterback” give his introduction press conference, it’s that the guy will be ok. A visibly excited and slightly nervous Tebow was the first player in Jets history to give his introduction speech to the media from the indoor field a the Jets facility in florham park.
The press room was just not large enough to accommodate the zoo that came upon the Jets facility Monday morning. Having watching a live stream of the presser off of NewYorkJets.com, Tim was his humble self and took every potential curve ball and deflected it into “something he can’t control, so he doesn’t worry about it”.
Tim was very down to earth and I can see that the media will try all season to get him to say something but it’s never going to happen.
300 Cameras to see Tim Tebow
“I haven’t had time to spend with coach Ryan and I think a lot of it has to do with how well it works, how it does in practice. Obviously you’re not going to put something out there that’s not executing, not running well so I think it really matters how well we do,” Tebow said.
“My goal is to go out there and try and execute and try to do as well as I possibly can. Improve every single day and really get comfortable with my role and expand my role by going out there and competing well.”
Tebow on media crush “I really dont feel like it will be too much of a distraction. I honestly will try not to pay too much attention to it”
