Curtis Martin Hall of Fame Announcement on Saturday! Is he going in?

The NFLN will air the Hall of Fame Announcement Show from 5:30 – 7:00pm Saturday night for the 2012 class and Curtis Martin is a heavy favorite to make it in.   Also, his coach for most of his career, Bill Parcells is also up for induction.

I’ve been spoiled with road trips to the playoffs the past year, and with the Jets missing the playoffs, there was a huge void.  If Curtis Martin makes the Hall, I’m going on a ROAD TRIP in full Jets form!!  It’s not the playoffs, but this will be a once in a life time experience!

“It would be wonderful,” Parcells said of a potential enshrinement. “I know it’s something I have no control over, but I would be very grateful and humbled.”

Parcells lists Martin as one the top five players he has coached, and entering the Hall with him would add greatly to his joy. As a rookie, Martin gained 1,487 yards, first of 10 consecutive 1,000-yard-plus seasons in three years with the Patriots and eight with the Jets. His 14,101 rushing yards rank fourth all time, and in 2004, at 31, he became the oldest player to win the rushing title with 1,697 yards.

Martin already said he would like Parcells to introduce him if he is elected. If things go right, it would mean Parcells will be a presenter and be presented in this summer’s festivities in Canton. – Read More
