Logan Payne left last night’s game with a dislocated wrist, a person with knowledge of the injury confirmed. The Jets receiver had the wrist set back in and will have an MRI to assess the extent of the injury today, the person added.
Logan will have an MRI This Morning
That person requested anonymity because the team has not announced the details of the injury. The New York Daily News first reported the nature of Payne’s injury.
It seemed like Logan was the favorite to win the #5 slot at WR. Will the injury stop his chances from making the team, it’s a bad break (no pun intended). So who’s going to make that 5th slot. Is Scotty McKnight the guy or is there someone else that looks good?
So who is in the running?
Michael Campbell was on the hot track to win the job but then dropped the game winner against the Texans in the first game. He has great size and in that route did a double move to fool the db, but he needs to pull those in during clutch plays.
Dan DePalma is a long shot in the least but I favor him because he’s a local boy trying to walk on and make an impact. He’s fast, plays special teams and has shown some flashiness on punt returns.
Scotty McKnight is Mark Sanchez’s BFF. Ok kidding aside, other than Kerley who locked the 4th spot, McKnight is the only other WR to be drafted. Does that mean he automatically make the team, hardly. With Logan Payne getting hurt, I see McKnight moving up in the ranks but if he doesn’t win the 5th slot, he will end up on the practice squad.
I do believe that Logan was going to be the number 5, now that he’s injured, he’ll be on the PUP or practice squad to start the season. Scotty McKnight and Patrick Turner make the practice squad, but they’ll move Turner up for the first game until Logan gets better. The rest get waived.
Think I’m nuts, what do you think is going to happen?
