Jets running back Shonn Greene was not at the morning walkthrough Friday and coach Rex Ryan said he is not even sure if Greene is in the building.
Greene has a skin infection on his right foot that will cause him to miss Sunday’s preseason game against the Bengals. He is being treated with antibiotics.

“I think it’s been a few days,” Ryan said. “He practiced [Wednesday]. He had some problems, so they gave him a little thing in his foot. He was fine. The next day the thing wore off, it got worse, there was more swelling in it so they tried to drain it or something like that. It got an infection, so he’s (limping around). He’ll have to have it propped up. He’s going to have to elevate his leg for a little bit.”
Ryan said he expects to have Greene back next week. Ryan was asked if the Jets are taking any precautions in their building to prevent the infection from spreading to other players. Ryan said they are not doing anything extra, but he believes the building could not be any cleaner.
The Jets are unable to rule out a staph infection because Greene does not have an open wound.
With Greene out, LaDainian Tomlinson will start Sunday against the Bengals. Tomlinson was only in for two snaps Monday night against the Texans.
Joe McKnight, who suffered a concussion Monday night, will be able to play Sunday. The Jets will also use fourth-round pick Bilal Powell.
Offensive Coordinator, Marty Mornhinweg, was unavailable to explain himself to the media after the game Sunday, but Yahoo sports have reached out this morning and here are some quotes from the Jets' OC.
