Shaun Ellis Signs with the Patriots, My Reaction @e_man

Jets legacy over.  You have now become an enemy of the state Mr. Ellis.  That’s too bad.

Well after hearing rumors earlier in the week that Ellis may sign with the Pats kind of ticked me off.  Let’s be clear, I’m not upset that he signed with another team.  I’m upset that he signed with the most hated team for a Jets fan.  I would have felt the same way if he signed with the Dolphins.

Shaun was drafted by the Jets in 2000 and I was hoping that he would take the Vet minimum to mentor some of the younger Jets.  He obviously thought that was an insult and his goal was to stick it to us by going to the Patriots.  Do the Pats really need HIM?  No, but this just makes the rival even more heated.  I think I speak for most Jets fans when I say we are upset because this is Ellis trying to SHOW THE JETS UP.  As a player, he was on the decline and most likely will be his last year in the NFL.

Shaun, you ruined your legacy with the Jets.  I hope it was worth it.

    Dude I agree! WE HAD TO GET YOUNGER ON D_LINE!!! Sucks to see him go but man our D line was the over 30 group that got NO pressure on QB. Rex had to use schemes to get D-line to QB and this is a league of adjustments. So teams would have been ready for that this season. We had to get younger there. Wish he would have stayed but I respect his decision to go to a division rival and possibly get paid (don’t know the contract) over what Jets offered him. Pats do this kinda stuff all the time!  Pats do this ALL the time and yet the Jets do it and they get bashed for it! Love ya Shaun but we had to start looking toward the future.       Yeah but guess what, we do this as well… it’s what smart teams do.  I just hate the Pats.

    This is another attempt by Bellichick to get some inside information on the Jets D. If he can’t video tape our signal calling, why not sign someone who knows the signals.
