Jets, Please Sign Nnamdi So I can Win My Bet

The excitement level of Jets fans anticipating signing Nnamdi Asomugha rose dramatically when the Texans announced the signing of CB Johnathan Joseph.  From reports all day, the Jets were in a dead heat with the Texans to sign Nnamdi.  With that being said, people are forgetting about the 49′ers who still have a shot to swoop in and take him.

According to Rich Cimini:

The Texans are out of the Nnamdi Asomugha sweepstakes. As reported by ESPN Insider Adam Schefter, the Texans agreed to a five-year contract with former Bengals CB Johnathan Joseph.

That leaves Jets vs. 49ers for Asomugha’s services, and the feeling close to the Jets is that they have an excellent chance. There could be a decision by the end of the night.

Sign #21

Here is the biggest issue in my mind for Asomugha to sign with the Jets.  He was making in the neighborhood of 16 MIL per year with the Raiders.  There is NO WAY he is going to get that with the Jets and there is NO WAY that he makes more than Darrelle Revis.  If you thought last years hold out was ugly with #24, if Nnamdi does sign with the Jets and makes more, we may see Darrelle letting it be known that he is unhappy.

This is STILL “REVIS ISLAND” but Nnamdi is certainly invited and Revis wants him to join as well.  In fact many Jets do as well as the fans.

#Jets fans’ excitement levels rose with Texans agreeing to terms with Johnathan Joseph as it should. But beware: 49ers very much in play

I’m not getting this 49ers-Nnamdi angle. Why would he want to go from one bad team to another?

Here is the reason Dan….  “SHOW ME THE MOOOOOOOOONEY”  Now Nnamdi claims that he wants to go to a super bowl team, well let me tell you, it’s not the 49′ers and maybe I’m biased but I’m telling you, his best shot is with Gang Green.

So what are the other teams we need to worry about:

Contenders for Nnamdi Asomugha’s services that we already know about: Jets, Bucs, 49ers & Cowboys. May be 1 or 2 teams we don’t know about

Dark horse in Nnamdi Asomugha sweepstakes: The Bucs. They have plenty of cap room. #Jets

At the end of the day, or one of these days, I’m thinking the Jets get this done.

My Prediction:  THE JETS SIGN Nnamdi Asomugha and if they do, I have a lunch bet with a dolphins fan, my boss.  Get er’ done Jets and get me fed!
